Have you tried honeycomb?

If you are not familiar with honey in the honeycomb you are in for a treat!

It is the most delicious form of honey. It's right where the bees stored it, and it hasn't been in contact with the air. It's been carefully sealed with a paper thin layer of beeswax once the bees decided it was ready.

Beekeepers usually refer to it as comb honey, to distinguish it from the honeycomb itself, which is the beeswax structure the bees build. But whatever we call it honeycomb or comb honey, it is absolutely delicious.

You may be wondering, but how do I eat it? Easy! Either chew a piece or cut a thin slice and place it on a cracker on top of soft cheese. It is 100% edible.

A piece of comb honey is a perfect feature in a cheese platter. I have yet to try a cheese that doesn't taste better with honey. But I may be biased.

What our customers say

See what our clients are saying. This is the most recent 5-star Google review.

"First the product is amazing our honey was so delicious it was outrageous. But the attention and customer service was just so amazing I highly recommend!"

And a father of a young and curious child shared: "I grew up eating honeycomb whenever we were able to get it as a snack by itself or with bread, so I was excited that I would be able to get some from a local producer. The honey at South Mountain Bees is always delicious - sweet but floral with a tiny hint of tartness - and the comb honey is no exception. My young son, who loves anything related to animals, was also thrilled to get to see what a real life honeycomb looks like and to see the work of the honeybees, and we were able to use the comb to talk about how honeybees make and store honey. So it was fun to eat and talk about!
